Chats in Eko can be great for setting up proper channels for discussion of important topics - they are designed to be set up for certain departments and teams, for major projects or subjects, and more. Sometimes, though, you may want to set up a more focused, smaller channel within a chat, for a subject you don’t want to get lost in the larger conversation - for smaller projects, for certain issues, or even for planning an event.
For this purpose, we have a feature called Topics. Topics are smaller, focused conversation channels within a chat, and can be created at any time start that communication.
Create a New Topic
Topics are simple and easy to make, but the process is different depending on your device:
- To create a topic in Eko Mobile, navigate to the chat you wish to create the topic in, and tap the small Stack icon in the upper-right corner to open the topics for the chat. Then click the “+” symbol to name and create your new topic.
- To create a topic in Eko Web/Desktop, navigate to the chat you wish to create the topic in, and click the Topics section at the top of the chat. Then name your new topic, and press the “+” symbol to create it.
You can now create new Topics in Eko chats!
Note: If you wish to ‘Archive’ a topic, you can do so at any time on Eko Web/Desktop by clicking on the ‘three dots’ icon in the upper right of the topic view, and selecting ‘Archive’. On Eko Mobile, you can Archive it from the Chat Details area.
