Note: The Banner Broadcasts require Admin Panel access to manage, and this article is thus meant for Admin users of Eko.
Administrators have the ability to set up roles and permissions for standard users within the Admin Panel. Administrators can grant permissions to directory groups to: enable access to admin panel features; to limit visibility of different contacts; to decide which workflows can be accessed; and to restrict portal visibility. To set up roles and permissions, follow these steps.
Note: All of the permissions settings here are based on you having set up proper Directory Groups for all of your users to fit into. Make sure you have clear Directory Groups before adjusting permissions for your users.
- Open your Admin Panel.
- Click on Permissions on the left hand side under the User and Permission Management section.
Admin Panel
Under Admin Panel, choose which feature you would like to allow a group access to manage. To do so,
- Select the feature you would like to edit access to by scrolling down.
- Reporting Access
- User and Permissions Management Access
- Bot integrations Access
- Broadcasting Access
- Forms Access
- Workflow Access
- Communication Access
- Library Access
- Management Access
- Select the Group Name you would like to grant access.
- Click Add to grant access.
Now a group of users can also manage the feature that the administrator granted access to. The users are not allowed to manage other features of the Admin Panel that are not chosen.
Note: In order to manage who has access to each section of the workspace Library, you will need to navigate over to the Library section. Each folder of the Library has independent controls for managing who can access it, either by group or individual.
Directory
Under Directory, select which group can view another so that the selected directory group can only view certain groups in their Contacts and other directory groups will be hidden from them. To do so,
- Select directory group on the left drop down menu as the viewer (source)
- Select directory group on the right drop down menu for users (target) to be shown on viewer’s Contacts
- Click Add to save.
This is a one way permission so if admin wants group A and B to view each other. Admin needs to set up two permissions: “Group A can view Group B” and “Group B can view Group A”. Except for the default setting whereby “Everyone can view everyone”.
Forms Access
Under Forms Access, choose which group can use a certain form.
- After typing the template name, click Add.
This is a way for users to view only the forms that they are assigned to. Any other groups that were not included will not be able to view the specific forms.
Forms Template
Under Forms Template, choose which group can view and edit a form template.
- After typing the template name, click Add.
This is a way for users to utilize only the form templates that they are granted access to. A group that is not assigned to a form template will not have access to manage it.
Portal Access
Under Portal, choose which group can view a specific portal.
- After typing the portal name, click Add.
This is a way for users that only need to view specific portals but do not need access to others. Any group that is not added will not be able to view the specific portals.
